Just because I disagree with the authors of the book burning list on
probably all fundamentals does not in any way preclude the interesting
occurrence of items on the list that have been misquoted and used as
justification for evil deeds.
Ummm, Shockley, anyone?

And it is this phrase, not the "harmful" book, that has caused the alleged
justification by the strong for their abuse of the weak. "Strong" versus
"weak" was not the premise behind Darwin's theory of evolution. And such a
wrong interpretation sould not be accepted as an indictment of Darwin's
theory.
Anyway, I suspect the "conservative" reactionaries who included this on
their list weren't so concerned with the abuse of the weak by the strong.
Many of them would probably agree that "might makes right," especially when
it comes to keeping their hard-earned (or inherited) incomes. They just
don't like loosing their literal Biblical take on Creation.
