Further proof -- if any were necessary -- that this
so-called "malignd" is a clumsy bourgeois counterfeit
of the decade-ago pest, who, lacking wit, wields a
scatological sledgehammer instead.

Reminds me of that young whippersnapper a while back
who thought it the height of insult to call somebody a
homosexual. Man, that hurt.

"Shit-eating" might rile the Pulitzer board, but, as
in phonymalignd's fictional assertion, the phrase
obviously has a place in any Pynchon discussion.

Please, let "malignd" and jbor continue to share the
fruit of their obsessions with the p-list archives and
their fantastical revisions thereof. It only takes a
couple of seconds to read these posts, way less to
shit-can them...but, imagine the hours they must spend
pouring over those old posts, page after page
downloading from the archives, plodding through the
ancient arguments, finally, 10 long years later,
creating an opportunity to make their disputes turn
out the way they would have liked them to, back in the
day...sorta like JS vis-a-vis Mr. Pynchon, come to
think of it.

The camera cuts to Alvy, who turns and looks straight
into the camera.

ALVY
(To the audience, gesturing)
Tsch, whatta you want? It was my first play. You
know, you know how you're always tryin' t' get things
to come out perfect in art because, uh, it's real
difficult in life. Interestingly, however, I did run
into Annie again. It was on the Upper West Side of
Manhattan.

Annie, singing "Seems Like Old Times, " overlaps
Alvy's speech and continues over the next scene,
where Alvy, standing in front of a Manhattan theater,
shakes hands with Annie and her escort. The theater
marquee reads "OPHULS PRIZE FILM: 'THE SORROW AND THE
PITY'."
