Another insightful essay (pdf) on _Lot 49_, provides a nice precis of 
the text's essential indeterminacy and intertextuality and discusses 
some of the more prominent and worthwhile critical approaches to 
Pynchon's novel(la). Does misspell "Foucault" (though it gets 
"Moddelmog" correct!)
