Hi--

Reading Strange Angel, bio of California rocket
scientist/occultist--turns out both of his parents were from
Springfield, MA; his father's ancestors were said to be founders of
the city. Pynchon's folk are claimed to be founders as well.

quite a fascinating read; very much to chew on with regards to
Pynchon. One would think Pynchon knew about Parsons or read about his
exploits.
