disaster movies

Does anyone have any thoughts on the plot lines of disaster movies and what these might suggest? The end of the world has been around a long time in print but only the movies can show  the big  explosion. Is God the ultimate insurance broker?

I ordered a copy but it hasn't arrived yet. Maybe we could discuss
