"Nothing much going on" is an understatement.

Does anyone know when the "ideal" time is for a new book release for maximum 
sales?  If I were to guess, I'd say sometime before Christmas.  but that's 
just a guess.  I'm sure publishers have hard data.  It probably varies by 
type of book and subject matter...

Also, how much advance notice was there between when M&D was announced by 
the publishers as impending and the actual release?  A little birdie has 
chirped rumor that the new book is presently in the hands of the editor, but 
no details are available.  A fun game might be for P-listers to "compete" 
with predictions for the actual release date.
