True, I try not to. But I'm on this p-list thing.

By the way, there's no 'e' on the end of my name.

No doubt Pinter's politics, particularly the recent anti-Bush,
anti-Blair ones, were a big factor in his being awarded the Nobel. That
being the case, his being an apologist for a genocidal dictator should
surely have given the Nobel Committee pause?

> Maybe you'll tell me,...

No need. I think it's fairly well accepted that Pinter's award was in
large part a recognition of his politics. If you disagree with that then
there's no reason really to question the award.

Gees, Carville, I didn't know you thought about me at all.

No one here who has criticized Pinter's choice has done so for any
reason other than his politics; i.e., they seem neither to have read or
seen his work.

As for the choice being political, I doubt he warmed himself to the
Nobelers with his public offerings to Tony Blair of another draught of
blood and other such quips and jibes. But then, what do I know? Maybe
you'll tell me, Carville, what the political thread is that runs from
Pinter to Elfriede Jelinek to V.S. Naipaul to Dario Fo to Gunther Grass
to Seamus Heaney to whomever you choose.
