I have to admit that, without wanting to piss anyone off, as a lurker - and,
I daresay, one of the younger members - on this list I was really looking
forward to the group read but, at the moment, I'm just skimming - or worse,
deleting - most of the posts concerning GR, because spending over a week
discussing the tiniest minutae and varying meanings of each word really
wasn't what I was hoping for. If anything, it's completely taking the joy
out of reading the book. I've found a fair bit of the discussion of
'screaming' and whatnot really interesting, but we seem to be going over the
same ground again and again, making the same points over and over. It could
be a rocket, it could be a siren, there are decent, relevant and fascinating
arguments for both - but I think we've just about exhausted all avenues
where that's concerned. Can't we just leave it at that and move on to the
next bit? My understanding of the opening page of GR is at an all-time high,
but jaysus, I'm losing more and more of that sense of wonder that I love
about reading TRP...

I just thought I'd second this thought and commend the writer for his candor
(and, on this list, bravery, anticipating "flames"); I've had the same
thoughts myself. Well said!
