wonderfully rich comic relief from the dread of the opening.  What more 
could you ask for?  It is significant that the medium for the appearance of 
the bananas is the composted waste gathering for years on the roof of a 
mansion in semi-ruin from an earlier era.  The hope (life) springs from 
destrucion/decay - anti-entropy.
