> Jessica fondles the darts ("brass throats and breasts" 31, 8-9)
> Jessica hits a bullseye

What an insight! Darts? I read this as her own neck and breasts.
This is clearly a Pynchon trick, an explicit double-entendre:

Jessica's been standing near the seance table with a handful
of darts idly plucked from the board on the wall,
 her head bent,
pale nape and top vertebra visible above the brown wool collar
and through some of her lighter brown hair,
fallen either side along her cheeks.

Brass throats and breasts warm to her blood,
quake in the hollow of her hand.

 She seems herself,
 gentling their feathered crosses,
 brushing with fingertips,
to have slid into a shallow trance....

This is downright steamy! My only problem is to explain away
the plural s on throats. I might appeal to my theory that a
self-referential self-suckling of breasts is four: "two two".

Or, I could say that throats is not a noun, but metaphor of
suckling activity, a verb, allowing two sequential actions.

My lexicon has labia=wings, so feathered fits, her neck is
down, and two two's (2 x 2) can form a quadrant, a cross.

It is essential Revelation seals 1-4 lamb-winnowing doctrine
to me that I had never suckled upon any of my four whores:

 7:23 Till a dart strike through his liver;
as a bird hasteth to the snare,
and knoweth not that it is for his life.

Two Rev. witnesses can turn water into blood, and I have
as a light mapping that both breasts and penis may serve
water, hence in 69 is the gathering of waters, "that the
dry land may appear" (Commonly: earth = female genital).

I had not thought upon BRASS, but a trumpet (not shofar)
might be of brass, and trumpets HAS to be some oral act.

Brass often appears near iron, and iron ~ menstral blood.
(Whereas silver likely relates semen; But gold ~ sodomy?)
Hence, an oral/genital contrast is suggested in some of:

sockets of brass
vessels of brass.
grate of network of brass
overlay with brass
pins of brass
laver of brass
foot of brass
offering of silver and brass
taches of brass
brasen altar
heaven as iron, and your earth as brass
        (i.e, inverted!)
serpent of brass
(female poets show serpent as AC genital metaphor)
out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass
        (probably, hills=breast, while mountain=penis)

Yes, a grep of hills is immediately illuminating!
Who WAS that female AC poet who "turned her gaze"
and mentioned hills, moon, forest, and lake....?
"And the hills will flow with milk"
cf. TPPM _The Gift_: Sentence 1: "Camelot" - Tennyson

shoes shall be iron and brass
fetters of brass
helmet of brass
coat of brass
greaves of brass
target of brass
king David took exceeding much brass
worker in brass ... cunning to work all works in brass.
two pillars of brass
chapiters of molten brass
ten bases of brass

(Job:) or is my flesh of brass?
Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.
gates of brass
thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
For brass I will bring gold, for iron silver, for wood brass, for stones iron
slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.
sole of their feet ... sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead
set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot,
and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it

I will make thy hoofs brass

        (differentiating: AF==Silver; but female fellatio==brass)
neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses
I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal
feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace

> into the realm of Dominus Blicero
> Lights ... gathered there at the opposite end

If blicero ~ German bright, he is in the domain of lights.

        ---

> conscious of the wind, as his mortality had never allowed him.
> discovered it so...so joyful, that the arrow must veer into it.

> hadn't taken into account wind shear (and the supernatural).

> work he did designing guidance systems, mythology of the rocket

> He's "hovering" over "Slothropian space"

These insights spark me to compare how Jessica's bulls-eye
is like Slothrop who DRAWS the rockets to him like a wind:

Isaiah 32:2
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind,
and a covert from the tempest;
as rivers of water in a dry place,
as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
