The Sadness of America

Imo, the sadness is more about what people do with their opinions of
ID (or any of a whole lot of other things - like torture).
Opinions are just opinions and can be argued forever. The laws and
regulations stemming from these opinions can be a lot more than words.

For instance, in Bush's "opinion," torture is apparently okay. In
McCain's it's not. I don't care about the opinions themselves; those
folks can argue all day long and I don't care. What I care about is
the people in custody and what happens to them. I care about the
results of the opinions.

I'm not sure about ID. In it's present form (an argument against
something - not much for) I don't think it should be "taught" in
science classes but it could be mentioned in passing one time just to
keep the natives happy. (if that would do it)

more of a pragmatist - but it's sad where that has led us
