'Strange' isn't the word. What I would call it is an object lesson in
not looking to artists for political wisdom.

A common mistake made by a lot of people on 'the left', particularly
celebrities, is to assume that just because a lot of the foreign policy
pursued by US/UK/'The West' is wrong (and it is), that means that 100%
is wrong. 

You could argue that action was only taken over Kosovo for the wrong
reasons (chief among them being embarrassment at not taking enough
action early enough in Bosnia), but to go from that to defending
Milosevic is a leap that only a fool could make.

Would those of us who opposed the invasion of Iraq sign up to a
committee to free Saddam Hussein?
