You're very probably right. But I hope I'm not being too optimistic in thinking that Linklater will have made something out of the source material that amounts to more than the usual Hollywood junk.

At best, we can maybe expect something that's enjoyable enough if we don't expect it to stand alongside the book in terms of cultural worth.
