Yes, remarkable. It would not have seemed quite so remarkable if P had 
written his book subsequent to the so called represssed memories craze 
of ten years ago. The newspapers were full of the sort of thing that is 
being attempted on Slothrop. In at least one case sodium amytal was 
used.  Some kind of lawsuit eventially ensued over improprieties on the 
part of the therapist..
