if there is one, we haven't been introduced
  too much of today's fiction writers are pretty well focused on withdrawal 
and inner-scavenging, minimalist, first=person crap o rama
 Jonathan Lethem just got a genius grant--that proves it for me that lousy 
state of modern american fiction
 the younger sons who write 'Big"--short comparisons w/ pynchon:
 delillo: best of the bunch but time passed him by
vollman: writes too much; utterly humorless
lethem: enuff of those fucking comics
frazen: wants to be henry james
dfw: quick wit but verbal vomiting teeth pulling
moody: lugubrious & mawkish
