The Wrath of the Intelligent Designer

Being "not tolerant" among liberals means not being silent out of
politeness if people believing in religion are talking nonsense. This
nonsense, for example, could be what has been said by Christian
Democrats in Germany regarding the EU-membership of Turkey or our
"national character," that there's a "Leading Christian Culture" in
central Europe. To be tolerant here indeed would mean being a hypocrite.

If you tell someone from that "intelligent design" fraction he/she is
talking simple hocuspocus and that there's more scientific evidence in
the Bros. Grimm-tales nobody might bother. But if you say that all
religious belief is superstition (the Nietzsche point) some other
liberal will call you to order. It seems inappropriate to tell Jews,
Christians and Muslims that they just fell victim to some childlike
desert-belief of some nomad tribes from a long time ago. Therefore it
needs to be done!
It's not about "destroying religion" but about being impolite and rude
when religious zealots are around.

The whole German "We are Pope"-attitude this year for example, agnostic
people feeling proud because of the German pope etc, made me sick! Lot
of hypocrisy around here.
