I also have a teenage daughter who's a great reader, but has a weakness for one crappy TV show: "The O.C."  She told me that Paris Hilton had a guest appearance on the show, playing herself, where she tells people that  she's working  on a dissertation on "Magic in GR,"  or something like that.  So there's at least one Pynchon fan churning out TV scripts somewhere.  At least it's better than watching a TV show where none of the show's writers are Pynchon fans.  I guess ...
