Pynchon and "faith"

I think that regarding the function of religion, ideologies, myths,
superstition in Pynchon's work something Keith has said is quite right:
"all of these conceptualizations are based on dualistic western
philosophical presuppositions."
What Pynchon does is pointing to the structural similarities of all of
these "dualistic western philosophical presuppositions", for example in
the conversation between Tchitcherine and Wimpe (GR 701).
Which is of course the postmodern point of view.
