Watergate, Warhol and the Birth of Post-Sixties America

This 1960s-bashing doesn't make sense to me.

For one thing, it's way too general.

For another, it's not as if the 1960s were devoid of great progress. In the
US, giant steps were made in terms of civil rights and consumer rights.
Freedom of expression made great gains, too. Just three examples.

And this thing about the kids having a great chance, blowing it, and now
fucking up the country the same way it was fucked when they were kids? Well,
for decades the kids have often had a great chance. I give lots of credit to
the kids of the 1960s who worked for progressive causes, sometimes even
risking (and even losing) their lives in the process. They did a lot more
than a lot of other kids throughout history...and I'd say a lot of them are
still at work for good causes. And the people who are really fucking things
up today? I think a lot of them were not aligned with progressive causes at
any time.
