Foer's first book at least made me laugh in the beginning.  I think
the translator is a good character.  It might have been over-written
but it was still funny and fun to read.  Later on the book became
pretty stupid IMO, like he didn't really think it through and just
kind of plopped out an ending to finish it up after he wrote the first
part and didn't want to take the time to really give it a lot of
thought.  I forgave him because of his young age when he wrote it. 
The second book is just shite.  A degression as opposed to
progression.
