Thanks, Paul.  It's been awhile since we've had any
close reading of Pynchonian texts here, and you've got
the ball rolling now.

With a Slim Pickens twang, I hear it "A-ny got-damn
pin-kin-roller" (accents on pin and ro)" which would
tend to emphasize "pinkin" and could possibly
introduce yet a third variant on the pronunciation of
Pynchon's family name, as somebody suggested the other
day I think, and more to the point perhaps, emphasize
whatever it is that "pinkin" and "pinkinroller" are
supposed to represent.


"pin-chin" accent on pin
"pin-chawn" accent on chawn, as TRP said it on The
Simpsons
"pin-kin" in this text?
