ATD: ad: Pynchon excerpt from new novel

Brilliant observation.  Yes, indeed, the only possible
explanation for any of these marketing moves related
to the new book is that Pychon's publisher has taken
on the challenge of making the publication of  his
long-awaited novel a failure.  That's precisely what
the company's shareholders, directors, and executives
are working to accomplish.  They are trying as hard as
they possibly can to lose money on this book.  I'm
absolutely positively certain that's what Pynchon
wants, too, since he has become such a commercial
sell-out in recent years.
