eGad: Pynchon excerpt from new novel

[Ghetta Life]

The passage IS awful, so much so that it constitutes Pynchon's "wink, wink.  
I know this is bad," style.  A whole book of this would be unbearable.  
That's why some are assuming this must be a short sub-story within the 
larger story of the novel.  But even by itself, it just aint funny.
