If anybody other than L. Ron Hubbard is to blame for
Scientology, it'd have to be John Campbell, the
publisher of Amazing Stories, who provided space in
his magazines for excerpts from Dianetics back in the
day.

Anyone seen the new Scientology Center in San
Francisco?  It's in a beautiful building, right across
the street from what used to be Melvin Belli's old
office, near the Transamerica Pyramid.  There's always
a table out front where you can get one of those
questionnaires Scientologists are always passing out,
or if you're really ambitious, you can get strapped to
an E-Meter.  I've noticed that there are always a lot
of people smoking in front of the building.  I guess
they're not clear yet.

As "Bob" Dobbs says, they may be pink, but their
money's sure green...
