I heard the Cruise / MI III rumor too.

Cruise is pretty out there but there's a lot of big-name stars
involved... I sort of have a theory that they don't necessarily
believe in it, but that it's some kind of tax shelter for them (being
a tax-exempt "religion") - which is possibly offered to them so that
they'll draw a considerable number of regular joes following their
idols into the group to provide a steady flow of income.
