Fwd: e-book reader

Laptop can do many things. Many things I don't need. It can't do one
thing I need.

I can't read a book (or pseudo-book or e-book, however it's called) on
a laptop or a PDA. Of course I can "pretend" to read one but a few
hours of reading is really hard on my eyes.

I've been reading books on iLiad for 2 days almost straight and my
eyes are fine.

One more potential benefit for a foreigner like me is that you don't
have to pay shippig charge for an e-book delivery. Currently if I
purchase one book on Amazon, I have to pay 12 dollars for shipping.
I'll always buy Pynchon books (paper books, that is) even with that
extra amount. But I'm very reluctant to pay that extra for other
'minor' authors. (minor only in my preference, of course)

It's very sad only small number of people are interested in e-book
development. Probably that's the reason why there's no decent e-book
distributions and terrible DRMs are norm.
