Putting the novel in context, as, say, we've been
doing with Gravity's Rainbow vis a vis Watergate here
(hm ... June to February, that IS rather a window of
opportunity, at that ...) will be a legitimate
pursuit, ESPECIALLY in light of that caveat in the
blurb ...

I'm hoping to avg. fifty a day so as to be done ca.
Christmas, and THEN let loose, at earliest (that Xmas
break might be a good time for first impressions,
preliminary notes, et al.; me, I hardly get LESS busy
then, but I;m thinking, many do, so ...).  We will, of
course, have to be cautious about spoilers, but ...
well, I'm not going to worry about reading 'em, at any
rate.  And I don't THINK anyone'll sweat anyone
posting whatever helpful hints might get us through
the first several pages (e.g., "punkinroller'd"), but
...
