A Bogus New 9-11

I would wager if it does it will be along the lines of a pundit making
an offhand comment to the blogosphere, though maybe one will make a
more direct comment. I don't think that the mainstream media will
focus on this directly though - probably just more of the same empty
"what price our freedom" stuff and talk about changing lives in a
dangerous world. They didn't really focus on the absurdity of the
shoe situation, and certainly don't seem to raise much fuss about
women getting fondled at security checkpoints:

(from 2002 but still relevant). I don't want to become overly
political here and certainly don't want to turn the list into a
political debate forum, but what I will say is that the non-mainstream
media is just as bad as if not worse than the mainstream, though I'll
read it anyways... all you can hope to do is read as many sources as
possible and make your own opinions. There's nothing any media outlet
can do to get the majority of people to do this, and it's really the
only way to get as close an approximation of truth as possible from
what is ultimately a second-or-third-hand source. Don't trust the
news, trust yourself, after that it becomes a matter of whether or not
you're still willing to get on an airplane.
At least there's some humor to be found though:

Hooray internet!
