rushdie defends grass

[Otto]

In a former life I has to write many official requests to the
"Wehrmachtsauskunftsstelle" (WAST) because before people could apply
for war pensions of course it had to be proven that they had been
soldiers.

Everybody who had an interest could have looked this up.
