One reason to like T.C. Boyle

I think Boyle is occasionally great, especially his best novel
'World's End' in which he melds autobiographical elements with a
historical story of Dutch settlers in New York.
It's his most Pynchonesque (yeah, that term again) book.
An author's public persona is bupkis to me. It's all between the covers.
