Yes, as Robin noted, "spoiler" isn't a good word to apply to the
promise of the recurrence of enticing themes.
In persevering through a long, hard book, it's nice to know that what
you read today isn't just of some passing interest but will relate
directly to what you will be reading perhaps months and thousands of
pages from now.
Thousands in the case of A la recherche . . . .
