<< What's the list's feeling on West's "Dream Life of Balso Snell"? Seems to 
get written off completely by his admirers and detractors alike.  I'll be the 
first to admit that it's no Lonelyhearts or Day of the Locust, but I've always 
felt it was hilariously surreal and quite worthy of one's attention. >>

I think it's worth reading but, I don't think it's as good as what followed, 
which is pretty terrific.
