We try.  Thank Pynchon, Petillon and Knight.  I don't
know that I got Vineland at the time, but I do think
Knight is right about the contrast with GR and Lot 49,
I think I get it now.  The transparency's thrown a few
people used to squinting through a glass darkly ...

But Dee, how so?  See also Ovid's Tristia, Kerouac's
