"Agape, agape" IMO is a very strong and good book - the spiritual last
will of G., in fact. There is an elitarist but positive thesis in taht
book; and a tragic point of view about speed of changes of our age. Not
an original thing, of course; but that fast-changes-age stuff - such
as the positive thesis on elitarism of literature - are more significant
for they come from the pen of a "dead man writing" as was Gaddis in his
last years for his emphysema.
It's so sad for me that there isn't yet any italian translation of that
book.
