The difference between opening and closing lines is that opening lines can 
set up an esthetic for the whole novel. Also people don't want to give away 
the end of a novel so they just don't quote it.

This one should fall in 2 seconds:
"The Sky above the port was the colour of television tuned to a dead 
channel"
