Harlot's Ghost is okay.  

I used the word "stink" as appropriate for a writer who has been described as 
a great novelist and is far from it.  He is, however, often a very 
interesting thinker and an excellent journalist.  The distance between, say, Ancient 
Evenings, which I've read (and beg you all not to), or The Deer Park or An 
American Dream and Armies of the Night, or Of a Fire on the Moon, or Superman Comes 
to the Supermarket, his famous reportage on Kennedy or Ego, the piece he wrote 
in, I think two days for Life magazine on the first Ali/Frazier fight, is 
vast.
