That's good. But I think I'd have to agree with Paul M that GR was
probably published too early for Watergate to have been incorporated.
Probably Pynchon had got the measure of Tricky Dicky without needing
Watergate to confirm his worst fears. And I'm sure this has already been
covered on the p-list. Stupid of me, but Moody's comment intrigued me. I
should have stopped and thought about the timeframe.
I remember the late great Hunter S Thompson always liked to point out
that he'd been attacking Nixon all along, well before the wider public
were made aware of his crimes. "I kicked him before he was down", he'd
say.
