the Central Intelligence Agency, were arrested at 2:30
a.m. yesterday in what authorities described as an
elaborate plot to bug the offices of the Democratic
National Committee here.

What's the significance of March 19th, 1973, again? 
At any rate, again, I have yet to see that there's
anything specifically, pointedly Watergatian about the
Nixon refs. in GR, but I am giving anyone who can find
'em the benefit of the doubt.  Again, what was that
about a change in the Pt. IV epigraph?  And so on ...

But, again, of course, Nixon had been a target, one of
many, of Pynchon's since The Crying of Lot 49, so ...
