more on zeta's

i found this interesting from the wikipedia zeta function article

"Although mathematicians regard the Riemann zeta function as being
primarily relevant to the "purest" of mathematical disciplines, number
theory, it also occurs in applied statistics (see Zipf's law and
Zipf-Mandelbrot law), physics, and the mathematical theory of musical
tuning."

zipf's law is about the organization of languages into powerlaws.

I think this is facinating, giving that we are just being to understand
how complex systems, fractals, languages, life, all obay powerlaws.

so pynchon really is talking about the fractal attractor-basins of
i,j,k-space.

totally freaking facinating.
