I was thinking about the four corners scene and I've been wondering if
there is something mathematical to it.
we have three boys and 1 girl representing the four dimentions:h,i,j,k
we have the missing element that sired all of them: webb
we have Deuce Kindred (2nd friend?) and sloat as inseperable opposites
is lake time? are deuce and sloat some sort of opposing yet connected
force that are responsible for the missing element.
one possibility would be a Riemann Sphere with the children as complex
space and Webb as the infinite point.
but i'm not sure, and not at the mathematic level to know what i
hypothesizing towards.
a mathematician who i contacted who had read to about page 287 wrote this
to me:
"I've enjoyed it immensely so far. I particularly was taken by the scene
in which poor Lake was subjected to the rotational symmetries of the Octic
Group, while pinioned (as it were) above the Four Corners. Poor sad, bad
Lake.
