Skeezix is a character is the comic strip "Gasoline Alley" which  
began to appear in the Chicago Tribune after WWI

He was a foundling adopted by "Uncle Walt" who worked in some kind of  
automobile repair shop of that name.

S went on to soldier in WWII and afterward married "Nina," raised a  
familty, etc. etc. Grandchildren, probably Greatgrandchildre. .
