The Prestige novel

I suspect Priest is underrated in Britain because he can be denounced as a
'science fiction writer'. I would certainly recommend The Prestige, although
I can't comment on the film adaptation. In the Guardian recently a rather
dismissive 'review' of the new pbk version suggested the film was an
improvement:
