Foax:

UK satirical mag Private Eye slams ATD in this fortnight's issue. Not
online, unfortunately, aside from this:

With Bookworm: "Dropped on to the bathroom scales, Thomas Pynchon's
Against the Day weighted in at a cool 4lb. Its colossal length – 1,085
pages and something like half a million words of print – is
immaterial. No one, a few mad academics excepted, is going to get much
beyond a third of the darling work on which Mr P here has laboured for
so long."

I might get around to typing the whole thing in for the record, but
can't promise.
Bookworm usually only reviews books he/she doesn't like. This is no
exception. And there is usually some wisdom involved -- also no
exception here, methinks.

Does this mean Frustrated In Tunbridge Wells will have to cancel her
subscription?!
