I find it somewhat ironic that AtD is an easier read despite its length than
the earlier books

there's no doubt in my mind that V, 49, GR are part of his systems phase

Vineland, M&D, and AtD are the 'family' phase--that 17 yrs hiatus was
probably Pynchon's time to work through a new approach to writing--he grew
up

nice symmetry, too eh?
