The Year's Best Books

It's not a 2006 release, but I finally got around to reading Miller's A Canticle For Leibowitz, which is probably the best thing I read all year.

I also enjoyed Ben Mikaelsen's Touching Spirit Bear ... not "great literature," but a well-told yarn, especially for younger readers (middle school age).

Currently reading David Yaffe's Fascinating Rhythm: Reading Jazz in American Writing, which is quite good, too.
