Also, during one particular late night reading session, I misread
'daytime' as 'dynamite'. It's only an 'n' away from an anagram. After
that, I became particularly attentive to the word, which comes up a lot.

Yes, all of the "[blank - usually a term of proximity] the day"
phrases do start to pile up.  I'm wondering if they work out some code
underlying the whole text.
