Thanks for this link - this is IMO one of the best, most well-balanced 
reviews so far. I fully agree on Scott Esposito's argument that the Western 
section of the novel is not as strong as the later (or earlier) sections of 
AtD. The prose and plotting in the Western section seem a bit more 
pedestrian than Pynchon's usual high standard. Fortunately, the rest of the 
novel more than makes up for this.
