Toad Away

Sorry 'bout that.
It's from the old Firesign Theater "Avante-Garde
Radio Religious Happening 'Dear Friends'"
that broadcast on KPFK and KPPC down in
the Neo-Chanderlesque heart of Los Angeles during the
high tide of reefer noir. "They" usually rebroadcast "Dear Friends"
coupled to an episode of "The Shadow" or somesuch
golden age sleuthing radiodrama.

"Toad Away" is sung to the melody of
"On The First Noel" and goes something like this . . . .

"Toad Away,
Toad Away,
Toad Away
Away. . .
Where do you go
when you're
To-o-oad-A-Way---(slide down a fifth)---uh!"

Thus proceeding into a Liturgical Exegesis
concerning Lillian Roth in her extremity and
melted candles on frozen windowsills. Oddly
touching and truly stoned. The remainder of this
episode (which takes up side one of the two-LP set
commemoration of "Dear Friends" on the
Columbia Record Label) shows us the true
meaning of intercalary days, leading us on to
Jubilee and perhaps heaven. The "This is Alistair Crowley,
and I hope you're enjoying the all night images"
inspiration for somthing I posted earlier today
came from either side two or three.
