Eons ago, Michael Drinkard's DISOBEDIENCE (1993) was touted as  
Pynchonian.  Bought it, never read it.  *Sigh*  This dilatory behavior  
has not discouraged me from buying his latest, REBELS, TURN OUT YOUR  
DEAD, which looks steampunkish and M&D-ish.  Backcover blurb compares  
to DeLillo.

Certainly, with 13 years between books, Drinkard is at least emulating  
THE MASTER in one respect!
