It was the first successful project by an advertising "Genius" whose name
I've conveniently forgotten -- Google "Edison Project" and look for the
founder's name. The same evil, devil-on-earth twit who proposed a billboard
in outer space that would rival a full moon for brilliance in your night
sky, some one mile across. If you go into a doctor's office and the only
magazine available seems suspiciously light, suspiciously commercial and
product driven; if there's a TV running that only gets one channel, and it
seems suspiciously light, suspiciously commercial and product driven, that's
also his product. If your child is partly educated, at school, by an hour or
hours of television, that's probably his channel and his five minutes of
advertising as well.
Evil F'ing twit.
And those ads in paperback books gave him his start.
